• TOPIC: Enchangting Light Italic
Formal Italic hand has so many possibilities that require much practice and research of art and letter design. Pricipal rules, such as 45 degree pen angle, 5 pen width x-height, 5 degree slant, may limit us to create enjoyable and elegant letterfoms. In this workshop we will focus on the elegant use of small nibs to write beautiful light Italic forms, then blur the border of broad edge and pointed pen calligraphy by bringing beautiful touch-up of Roundhand into Italic.
Straight Pen Holder
- Some small broad edge nibs (Speedball C4-5 or Mitchell 05-06)
Gouaches or watercolors
Fine paper (highly recommend Hahnemuhle Ingres/Watercolor hot press, Arches Textwoves or Khadi). Any other fine papers you have
- Pencil, eraser, etc.

His international teaching tour started in Singapore and Jakarta in 2015, and has since been invited to teach in the various cities in the US, Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Japan.
