• TOPIC: “JURGEN A COLORI”
During this workshop, we will explore capitals with different rhythms and layouts using pressure/release, mechanical pencil, fine liners, Speedball C5, pointed pen and hemispherical pens. Single stroke as well as built-up. We will learn and strive for consistency in built-up capitals in form, size, slant and contrast. I will try to do most of the demo’s in colour. (Watercolor, gouache, walnut ink, colour fineliners…)
We will also work on big size caps and lowercase. Drawing big letters gives us different insights in the design of a single letter. We are forced to look more in detail.
And we will use a quote to explore different layouts and designs. Another goal is to design a layout suited to fill negative space with color.
• REQUIREMENTS:
To be part of the classe no previous specific knowledge is required, only the interest and desire to explore the world of letters.
